For the past five years it has been the ELS/MWS management intention to strengthen and develop a technologically oriented well service group, who are able to offer cost effective services to the industry.
The management intend the company to be considered as a serious alternative to the company's well established and most recognised competitors in the market.
The management endeavours to achieve this objective in an unconventional manner, using tools such as total quality assurance, safety programme, sound personnel policy, a system for the effective training and appraisal of performance and operationally focused Research and Development.
ELS/MWS well service personnel have been through special courses and cross-training for the last three years at the MWS training school, as well as on the job training in combining Wireline and logging services through various well service contracts in Norway, and the UK.
Maritime Well Service has been accredited to NS-ISO-9002 SINCE EARLY 1994. QA and the systems implemented to follow it up are seen as integral part of the company philosophy, and have been since the early 1980's. As the company grows and internationalises it becomes even more important that systems are available that can be extended to new areas of operation to ensure smooth implementation of operational procedures. The various feedback loops are critical in maintaining a positive approach towards continuous improvement of systems, technology in use, and operational techniques in general.
European Logging Services in Aberdeen is well on the path to BS-ISO-9002 accreditation for early 1995.
Safety management is seen as an integral part of the QA system, and has been included to ensure that all aspects of the system are regularly audited, both internally and externally. A monthly meeting is held with all employees to allow an exchange of views and discussion of any current safety issues. Our clients are encouraged to attend and make presentations at these meetings.
Training systems are continually under review both for offshore operatives and onshore administration. European Logging Services is currently taking part in the Investors in People programme supported by Grampian Enterprise to ensure that all aspects of personnel development are properly addressed.
Cross training and multi-skilling have been part of the MWS philosophy towards training since 1985 when data acquisition services were first offered. As Production Logging, other cased hole services and coiled tubing have been added to the service range, the scope of the training requirements has increased. MWS have invested in well control and coiled tubing simulators, in addition to the 330 m training well, to enhance the effectiveness of training operators for multi-skilled work.
