Petrotechnics is an international consultancy company founded in 1990 with a focus on the oil & gas industry. As experienced professional engineers the company has a clear understanding of the needs of the E&P operations environment. This direct experience within the oil industry is enhanced through the in house team of Software Engineers and Programmers.

The Company holds membership of Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, The Petroleum Scientific & Technology Institute (PSTI), The Scottish Innovation Forum. The company is an AutoCAD Registered International Developer.

Petrotechnics Ltd has a close association with a wholly owned US corporation - Petrotechnics USA Inc. based in Houston, Texas which markets and supports Petrotechnics products & services in the USA & Latin America.

Internationalisation Activity

The company has opened an office in Houston, Texas & have an Agency agreement in Abu Dhabi directly covering the UAE and as a regional base for the Middle East area. Negotiations are currently underway for extending the companies representation in the Far East & Australia.

In the current climate for business alliances and joint working agreements the company has entered into several ad hoc associations and has on going close working relationships with several other companies in the UK, US and the Far East.

Research

The Company is continuously upgrading and developing its current Software product lines, both with DTI assistance through an innovation grant project, and independently. Recent and current developments include: Building systems which provide universal data access for operational staff. Bridging the gap between project and operational information systems. Including performance measures, & benchmarking - Using innovative systems to assist the offshore operational process e.g.: integrated isolation control, risk assessment, personnel competency. etc.

Development

The Company has been retained as project consultants by a Major Oil Company to work with several major international Engineering & Construction Contractors. The contract is to lead the development of an information and work practice restructuring process; to produce a modern and more effective team - based on a �life of field� approach. Essentially this commission is to enable the re-engineering of the whole process from project design through construction, delivery, commissioning and operation to abandonment.

Deliverable

The company provides as an outcome of this consultancy - not just a paper report or a statement of methodology - but an installed operational system - a complete Plant Manager system tailored for that particular installation. The deliverable from a Petrotechnics consultancy is a verifiable and installed changed method of operating. This is implemented through custom modified versions of Petrotechnics standard software packages.
