The 4000 series HIGH PRESSURE P-MAC operate on the same principle as the 2000 series, low pressure P-MAC, with the added advantage that they can be operated at temperatures above 100oC and pressures up to 4000 psi. This allows the operator to achieve results dynamically, in a short space of time, compared to the length of time required for static pressure bomb methods.
Models Available:
Pressure Monitoring
The outlet pressure is controlled and maintained at a constant pressure while the inlet pressure varies according to the capillary restriction due to scale build up. The differential pressure is monitored and represents the the scaling profile across the test coil. The pressure sensing is done using a differential pressure transducer which tolerates aqueous fluids on the two ports and monitors the change in pressure across the test coil.
Pump Module
The pumps used are High Pressure precision HPLC Chromatographic piston pumps which can produce accurate and consistant flow rates at high pressures.
Data Recording
A chart recorder is used to monitor system pressure, coil differential pressure, system temperature and outlet temperature.
Heating Module
The heating module consists of an Oven which contains the preheat coils and the test coils. The test coil is mounted in a silicon oil filled cup in the oven which is independently heated and stirred by a magnetic stirrer through the base of the oven.
Computer Interface
All units have the option of interfacing to a computer for data acquisition and instrument control
Applications
The P-MAC 4000 series is suitable for use where the process or reservoir temperature is greater than 100oC. It is also recommended where the effects of pressure on scaling tendency is to be studied. It is the only means of studying the deposition of Anhydride under dynamic conditions.
