WELLSITE SERVICES AND MATERIALS
We can supply all core-handling materials necessary for packaging and preserving, and the qualified staff to undertake the work.
We provide hot dip baths, and manufacture simulated formation brines for preserving core samples.
CORE SAMPLE PREPARATION FOR PLUG ANALYSIS
Core samples can be cut with water, brine, base oil, mineral oil, kerosene and other fluids, to suit your company's needs. Plugs can either be dried conventionally or in humidity-controlled ovens to companies' specifications.
CONVENTIONAL CORE ANALYSIS
Core gamma logging - gross count. Spectral core gamma logging computer controlled spectral gamma logging gross count plus potassium, uramum and thorium.
Fluid saturation with porosity by summation, retort method. Fluid saturation with core plug analysis by Dean Stark. Water saturation by Karl Fischer titration - rapid whole plug analysis with water determined by Karl Fischer titration can be performed in conjunction with the rapid cleaning and analysis service.
CORE PLUG ANALYSIS includes:
ANCILLARY CORE SERVICES
Slabbing. Slabbing can be done in the standard fashion, or orientated to a specified azimuth.
Resinating. Once the core is slabbed, it is mounted in clear resin and annotated with well data for future reference.
Encapsulation. The core is completely enclosed in resin to preserve poorly consolidated material, and annotated with well data.
Photography. The slabbed or resinated core is photographed under white and/or ultraviolet light, with close-ups of important features.

SEDIMENTOLOGICAL/PETROGRAPHIC SERVICES
GONIOMETRIC SURVEYS
Integrated core study from oriented core survey data or borehole
televiewer images comprising measurements of sedimentary and structural
features. Calculation of true dip and azimuth, with graphical
representation and interpretation.
Core dip log surveys: reorientation of core from failed orientated core
runs to produce a comparison with the down-hole dip log.
Mercury injection, single and multiple points including drainage and imbibition curves.
Porous plate cell, air-water system, providing capillary pressure curves plus resistivity index when performed in conjunction with electrical measurements.
Water/oil-oil/water.
Gas/Oil.
Gas/water.
Permeability is monitored whilst changing the relative saturations of the fluid media.
Amott technique used to establish WI by combination of spontaneous imbibition and dynamic displacement of fluid phases.
