1.	To develop measures to reduce volumes of produced water:                                         TE+CR+E

       	-	see references to water shut-off in Section 4.3 and 5.2. Technology 
                options for down-hole separation and produced	water re-injection also
                exist, although the former is not mature.

2.	To improve effectiveness of produced water clean-up before surface disposal:               TE + CR

      	-	regulations govern allowable discharges offshore Europe and these may 
                become more restrictive in future.

3.	To improve understanding of the partitioning of production chemicals into                    TE + E
         water and oil.
