RTD TOPICS/ OBJECTIVES Category
1. To develop more efficient, environmentally benign chemical treatments for TE + CR scale inhibition/removal (principally barium sulphate): - for use in long reach wells; - for high temperature conditions; - for action in the presence of harsh brines; - with increase treatment lifetimes; - for application on unmanned facilities. 2. Investigate further the feasibility of non-chemical treatments for scale E inhibition removal, e.g. use of magnetic fields. 3. Develop on-line chemical sensing technology using, e.g. fibre optics or TE + CR microelectrode chemical sensors. (Asset focus of the above topics: all producing assets, especially those with "difficult" fluids) TE- technology enhancement. CR- cost reduction. E- enabling.
