1.	To develop improved production logging tools for use with 2 and	3 phase flow               TE
         in horizontal wells:

 -	tools to cope with phase segregation in long horizontal	sections.

2.	Modelling wellbore flow and inflow performance in horizontal wells especially              TE + E

         for long term performance prediction:

       	-	evaluation/prediction of pressure drop in horizontal wells.

3.	To develop improved, benign drilling and completion fluids for 	difficult                        TE
         hole/extended reach service.

4.	To optimise all drilling and downhole technology aspects impacting on the cost-         E + TE + CR
         effective exploitation of multilateral / multibranch technology, including:

      	 -	production logging, with advances in general design for	service in 
                horizontal sections; 
       	-	improved methods for pressure drop detection;
       	-	downhole completions optimisation;
       	-	efficient well servicing;
       	-	candidate selection for permanent instrumentation for reservoir and 
                downhole technology monitoring.
