PSTI, on behalf of the European Union, has
recently produced a report entitled Market Prospects for
Multiphase Technology. The report, based on a market study
produced by CALTEC Ltd, aims to:
Based on the response to a survey conducted by CALTEC, there are currently 100 offshore developments underway which plan to use multiphase technology for all or part of the production process. Nearly 50% of these are in European waters, primarily the North Sea, which continues to be the main driving force for the application of technical innovation.
Planned use of multiphase technology is
expected to grow over the next 3-6 years with 130 further fields
expected to be developed using some multiphase techniques. Northern
Europe will probably be the main user of this technology into
the next century, although North America is still potentially
the largest export market.
This report will be of interest to anyone
involved in multiphase technology and covers a wide range of subjects
including produced fluids, pipeline simulation, boosting, metering
and primary separation. Copies are available free of charge by
