PSTI publishes industry research priority review

At its International Petroleum Research and Technology Forum on 14-15 November, PSTI published a compilation and analysis of its Members' strategic and applied research priorities in exploration, field development and production. The report, 'Research and Technology Development for Petroleum Exploration and Production', is based on a mass of information gained in one-to-one meetings between PSTI and its individual Member companies, from consultation with expert groups convened by PSTI, and supplemented by information in the scientific and technical literature. In addition to setting out technical priorities, the document also provides an analysis of the key business drivers and asset challenges which are likely to underpin RTD investment decisions.

The document aims to inform the international RTD community, both researchers with a track-record of working with the upstream industry and those with little or no previous contact but who may nevertheless have something valuable to offer. It is also intended to influence the strategies of those government bodies at national and European Union level charged with making RTD investments from public funds.

The full text of the report is available on PTERIS.
