To meet the increasing technical and commercial challenges facing European companies which work to utilise the resources of the sub-surface, there is a requirement for continual innovation. This process is promoted by an enhanced understanding of the static and dynamic behaviour of the sub-surface gained through research, and requiring the development of 'clean' technologies and processes to protect the environment.
The European Network for Research in Geo-Energy (ENeRG) is a 'club' open to all European organisations which are involved in basic and applied research and technological development activities related to the exploration for and production of energy resources derived from the Earth's crust.
The aims of ENeRG are to:
Established in May 1993, ENeRG currently has members in more than 10 countries with the UK represented on the ENeRG Steering Committee by PSTI. Other UK based members include the Universities of Liverpool and Durham and the British Geological Survey.
