The IPRD contains details of over 4500 ongoing or recently completed research and technology development projects and 650 organisations offering expertise relevant to the upstream oil and gas industry. By providing an insight into recently commissioned projects, many of which will not be in a position to report data until sometime in the future, users of the IPRD are able to form a judgement on emerging trends in exploration and production research.
Full details of the research projects are provided, including keywords from a controlled list of terms, a subject classification ("Technical Field") and funding information; entries also include a short description outlining the project's objectives and progress to date.
Expertise entries relate to an individual company or university department and provide an outline of research expertise, major research groupings and details of specialised equipment. This information complements the research projects by providing full contact details.
Editorial Information
Users of the IPRD who are aware of research activity that has not been included are invited to submit information either electronically or on paper. Details of JIP's (Joint Industry Projects) are especially welcome.
