Programme

R&D and innovation projects will be presented in technical papers and exhibits. The Forum will cover three areas:

• reservoir geoscience and engineering;
• well technology;
• marine technology.

In recognition that the real added value from R&D comes from the commercial take-up of its output, Forum presentations will also examine the routes by which results are reaching (or failing to reach) application. This event will therefore provide important insight, through well documented case studies, on the workings of the innovation supply chain in the UKís oil and gas sector.

The programme is multi-disciplinary but will be structured in focused, thematic sessions to ensure that time spent by the specialist at the event can be optimised. Provisional topics include:

• reservoir uncertainty management;
• migration tracers;
• quantitative subsurface geological prediction;
• reservoir characterisation from seismic data;
• reservoir modelling software;
• reservoir stress state management;
• coiled tubing drilling;
• materials in deep water environments;
• multiphase flow measurement;
• hydrates control;
• techniques in ultrasonic cleaning;
• subsea battery development;
• subsea acoustic communication networks.

There will be a panel discussion at the end of each session to examine the issues raised.

A poster session will be arranged for projects which complement the presentations in the technical sessions.

Proceedings will be published.
