Tecnomare (UK) was established in London in 1987 as an independent company with the scope of providing in the United Kingdom the same range of services as Tecnomare SpA, the Italian advanced technology and engineering company based in Venice and Milan.

The Tecnomare Group have been operating world-wide in the development of marine technology for more than twenty years. During this time, they have successfully provided services to the offshore and marine industries, offering innovative and economic solutions to the varied problems related to the exploitation of ocean resources.

Tecnomare (UK)'s policy is to bring the Group's skills, resources and experience to the North Sea arena in order to provide Clients with the tools and advice necessary to face the challenges of the new era. The Group's activities, services and products all benefit from its unique applied research background

Recognising the need of its customers, Tecnomare UK Limited opened an Aberdeen office in 1994, based at the Aberdeen Offshore Technology Park. The purpose of this office is to maintain a contract with AGIP UK Limited for the provision of IRM management services in the Tiffany field and to market the company's range of services to UK operators and other contractors with which it is pursuing strategic alliances. The company feels that the climate for alliancing, particularly between contractors, offers particular scope for Tecnomare to develop its UK North Sea operations through the Aberdeen office.

The nature of the business means that Tecnomare will staff-up as necessary for particular contracts, therefore the AOTP is particularly attractive because of the flexibility of accommodation. Also having like companies under one roof is a benefit as it provides a framework for discussion and collaboration.

Tecnomare is able to offer its full range of services to North Sea operators through the Aberdeen facility by selective interfaces with its offices in London, Milan and Venice.

The long term objective is to develop an autonomous business unit through the medium of continuous technology transfer from its other world-wide offices where research and development continues to be a major part of the company's activities.
