Petrotechnics develops solutions to the challenges facing organisations by applying the latest technology in information management, common sense and the many years of operation experience it has in the oil industry. The company, founded in 1989, was invited to join a small group of innovative companies in the Offshore Technology Park in 1993, and brings together experts in the fields of computing, production and engineering operations. It has developed a multi-skilled team that has produced software products to fulfil the business requirements of major multi-national companies around the world. As a team of experienced professional engineers, the company has a clear understanding of the operation environment and the integral part that information management plays in the business process.
The company has been retained as consultants by major oil companies and engineering and construction contractors to develop information systems which lead to improved performance by re-engineering the work processes. These commissions have ranged from solving problems in a work process to re-structuring the whole project from design through construction, delivery, commissioning and operation to abandonment.
Based on this real experience, the company has developed Windows based information systems for use in the offshore oil industry and the process industry in general. Based on real customer requirements and modern work practices, these systems help process plant operators face the challenges of changing corporate structures and down-sizing initiatives. These systems include:
The Plant Manager system, an operational information managment system custom-implemented from a standard toolkit, has been operational on several production facilities in the North Sea for two years. This system integrates the many diverse information resources which exist in process plants giving a single point of access.
The Completions Manager downhole graphical database system is the defacto standard for completion and well equipment data in the North Sea, with an estimated 70% of wells recorded in the system.
The Operations Manager package, a daily reporting and statistical analysis system, is used by many oil companies to monitor well service operation performance.
Petrotechnics' consultancy services and software products are available world wide through offices situated in Aberdeen, Houston and Abu Dhabi.
