AEA Sonomatic Limited in Warrington, UK design, develop and manufacture computerised ultrasonic based systems for onshore, offshore topside and subsea inspection applications. From it's base on the Offshore Technology Park in Aberdeen, the company specialises in services for the offshore industry including both topside and sub-sea inspection work, using advanced manipulator and imaging systems.
The company has developed a range of advanced inspection techniques for non-intrusive examination of pipes and vessels. These techniques can save a great deal of time and money because there is no need to open up vessels for internal examination. In many instances, inspection can take place on-stream, at surface temperatures up to 300�C, which allows production to continue and eliminates costly downtime.
