DTC's High Pressure Well is a 4,900 ft deep, near vertical well providing downhole fluid injection and elevated bottom hole pressure capabilities.
The well is drilled 24" to 318 ft and 17.1/2" to 4,900 ft. It is cased with 18.5/8" to 312 ft and 14" to 4,800 ft. It is completed with 9.5/8" 53.5 lb/ft P110 casing suspended from the wellhead. The 9.5/8" casing is sealed with a packer and drillpipe retrievable plug at 4,708 ft.
A 1" coiled tubing line penetrates the wellhead and is ported into the 9.5/8" casing near TD.
Two surface read-out Panex pressure and temperature gauges are installed in the 9.5/8" : 14" annulus and ported into the 9.5/8" casing. These are situated at 4692 ft and 2323 ft DD below RT.
The 9.5/8" casing, coiled tubing and pressure gauges are retrievable. Their retrieval and subsequent re-installation would take in the order of six working days. The removal of the 9.5/8" casing would permit access to a 12.1/4" drift wellbore. This would also be required before any additional drilling could be undertaken in this well.
Because of a strong natural deviation trend, the well-deviates to the SSW. It reaches a maximum deviation of 12 degrees at a depth of approximately 2,500 ft. There are no significant dog-legs in the well. The well surveyed with the Eastman Ferranti FINDS tool. More detailed information is available on request.

Pressure Gauges
An Exal system of suface readout, downhole pressure and temperature gauges had been installedin the high pressure well.
This consists of two Panex quartz capacitance gauges, a signal conditioning unit and a stand-alone PC
for data display and logging.

A Model 420/Host 420 system provides data logging and real time display. This offers display of both gauge pressure and temperature outputs on the PC screen, in a variety of display formats and units. Data can be printed during operation. They can be stored in several file formats - raw databinary file, print ASC11 file or afile PANEX ASC11 file format. The user can select logging frequency up to 1 HZ.
